Description
The guideline supports public institutions in Brandenburg in implementing the European Water Framework Directive in the area of wastewater disposal. Measures that sustainably reduce the input of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus into water bodies and thus contribute to the protection of the environment and aquatic ecosystems are funded. Eligible applicants are entities responsible for public wastewater disposal, including municipalities, special-purpose associations, offices, and municipal institutions under public law. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant over a period of up to 24 months with funding rates between 50% and 80% of eligible expenses. The minimum funding amount is €50,000, with an upper limit of €500,000.
A prerequisite for funding is a water law permit with future tightened monitoring values for nitrogen and/or phosphorus, as well as proof of all technical expert opinions, approval plans, and official authorizations. Furthermore, the most economical implementation option must be demonstrated by means of a dynamic cost comparison calculation. Pure renovation measures are excluded unless they are an integral part of the funded projects. Applications must be submitted electronically via the customer portal of the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg. Required documents include, among others, the notification according to service phase 3 HOAI, the water law permit, approval plans, cost comparison calculation, as well as the ILB application form and the information sheet for applicants. Applications can be submitted in the period 01.01.2026 to 31.12.2027.
