Description

The Digital Infrastructure Coordination Guideline supports districts and independent cities in North Rhine-Westphalia in appointing coordinators for digital infrastructure. The goal is to accelerate procedures, consolidate expertise as a central clearinghouse for telecommunications networks and data centers, and assist with approval processes. Through geoinformation-based expansion planning, commercially viable and subsidized fiber optic and mobile network expansions are integrated. The program strengthens municipal support and networking of all stakeholders to sustainably ensure comprehensive access to high-performance broadband and mobile networks.

Personnel costs for coordinators are funded for a period of up to 36 months with a funding rate of 80% and a maximum of 210,000 euros. Applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the measure to the Arnsberg District Government, provided a positive decision is granted. Applicants must attach the funding guideline to the application form and meet the requirements for districts and independent cities in NRW. This ongoing funding opportunity facilitates long-term personnel planning and ensures continuous support for digital infrastructure projects on site. Interested municipalities thus receive a reliable funding platform for the efficient implementation of their expansion projects.
