Description
The guideline for granting funding for road construction measures on municipal roads in Lower Austria supports public institutions in the planning and implementation of construction, repair, maintenance, and winter service measures on municipal roads both within and outside built-up areas. This subsidy aims to enable municipalities to sustainably improve their road infrastructure and ensure traffic flow as well as traffic safety. Funding applications can be submitted continuously, allowing municipalities to implement their projects flexibly and without time restrictions.
A prerequisite for approval is that all revenue options from taxes, levies, and fees have been exhausted and that all legal requirements are observed during tendering and awarding. Funding is provided for all structural components on public properties for which the municipality bears the road construction responsibility, such as carriageways, sidewalks, parking areas, green islands, bus bays, bicycle lanes, square designs, bridges, and drainage systems up to the main line. For an application, a completed funding application form, a cost estimate to illustrate the anticipated financial requirements, and an excerpt from the municipal financing plan are required. After a positive funding commitment, the disbursement of the approved funds must be applied for within two years. This continuously available funding opportunity enables municipalities in Lower Austria to maintain and expand their road networks in a future-oriented manner.
