Description
The funding program aims to support pan-European leading research infrastructures such as ESFRI and ERIC consortia, as well as other first-class research infrastructures in the fields of climate, health, and social sciences, in developing and implementing comprehensive risk management, mitigation, and emergency strategies. Public institutions, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations with proven experience in transnational research and innovation projects are eligible to apply. A prerequisite is the collaboration of at least three independent partners from EU member states or associated countries. Within the projects, personnel resources, material and travel costs, as well as subcontractor costs, are funded at 100%; retroactive costs, debt settlement, and real estate investments are not eligible. Funding requests per project can range from €1,000,000 to €4,000,000.
The program contributes to identifying critical risks such as data loss, restricted access to facilities, or supply bottlenecks, assessing their impacts beyond individual infrastructures, and implementing appropriate measures for risk mitigation and continuity assurance. The quality of project implementation is evaluated based on excellence, innovation content, impact potential, and risk management. Applicants prepare detailed emergency plans, exchange best practices, and develop guidelines for research safety and resilience. The submission deadline is June 16, 2026 (17:00 Brussels time). Required documents include the project description, budget table, CVs of project leaders, and proof of organizational structure. The results will strengthen the sustainability and resilience of European research infrastructures in the long term and contribute to the further reinforcement of the European Research Area.
