Robert Pfleger Research Award

Every two years, the Doktor Robert Pfleger Foundation honors outstanding scientific achievements in the field of basic and clinical medical research with the Robert Pfleger Research Award. With an endowed funding amount of €50,000, the award recognizes innovative concepts for the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of diseases. The aim is to promote pioneering work that provides forward-looking impulses in medical research and thereby makes a sustainable contribution to medical progress. The award is decided by the foundation board based on the recommendations of an independent scientific advisory committee; a competitive procedure or direct application is not envisaged.

The award targets outstanding individuals or research teams whose projects stand out through scientific excellence and novel perspectives. The selection focuses on the quality of the research results and the potential for long-term societal impact. Supported are works from the fields of basic research as well as clinical research with immediate practical relevance.
