Rotary Sponsorship Award

The Rotary Sponsorship Award annually honors outstanding voluntary commitment by young people up to 27 years old in the Lübeck area and its surroundings. Under the patronage of the ROTARY FOUNDATION of LÜBECK, projects and initiatives in the fields of social cohesion, democracy, social affairs, culture, sports, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection, are recognized. With a total prize money of €8,000, the award honors individuals and groups who volunteer without compensation in the volunteer fire department, schools, churches, cultural associations, youth groups, or social initiatives. The aim is to highlight the importance of voluntary engagement for the community and to sustainably encourage young active participants.

Applications are submitted via an online application form and can be made by the committed participants themselves or by third parties until December 31 of each year. A prerequisite is proof of continuous voluntary work in the Lübeck area and the age limit of 27 years. An independent jury of association and foundation experts selects the awardees, who are honored with individual or group prizes. The sponsorship award offers not only financial recognition but also a platform for networking with other volunteers. Interested young volunteers benefit from the visibility of their projects and are encouraged to further develop their ideas and initiatives.
