Description

The S.O.F. Academy offers a nationwide accessible qualification series with its digital ESD training courses for educational professionals and leaders in daycare centers as well as in child day care. In compact online modules lasting one to three days, fundamental concepts of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) are conveyed: from theoretical guidelines to practice-oriented best-practice examples. Participants receive a digital resource kit with further handouts, literature references, and action proposals for everyday daycare routines. Additionally, ideas for promoting resource conservation, fairness, and health promotion are presented. The training courses also serve as preparation for the KITA21 award procedure, which honors innovative daycare centers for their sustainability efforts.

Funding is provided in the form of a flat-rate grant of €175 per person, which can be applied toward the participation fees. Eligible for funding are both private individuals and public institutions, provided that an employment relationship as an educational professional or leader in a daycare center or child day care can be demonstrated. Registration is possible at any time as long as places are available. The next sessions start from September 14, 2026. The digital ESD training courses thus create a flexible and cost-efficient opportunity to sustainably strengthen professional competencies in the sustainable design of everyday daycare life.
