The goal is to promote significant investments in economically relevant infrastructure in order to manage the phase-out of lignite-fired power generation, support structural change, and create new jobs and training opportunities. Accompanying measures such as planning, soil investigations, and preliminary studies are also to be supported.

Description
Sachsen-Anhalt Revier 2038 is an innovative funding program aimed at local authorities and other public bodies in Saxony-Anhalt to support significant investments in economic infrastructure. The program facilitates structural change in the Saxon lignite mining region and contributes to successfully managing the phase-out of lignite-fired power generation. In particular, modernization measures, digitization projects, as well as environmental and nature conservation projects are promoted.
