Description
Salzburg Sports Aid supports outstanding performance phases of athletes and sports clubs in Salzburg and serves as a complementary supplement to Austrian Sports Aid. With a targeted focus on youth and disabled sports, costly training and competition phases are financially cushioned. Both young talents and athletes of the general class can apply for grants throughout the year to close funding gaps. The support is provided as a one-time grant and helps to enable top sporting achievements at the state and federal levels. Continuous submission opportunities and decision-making bodies convening four times a year ensure flexible allocation throughout the year.
Eligible for funding are natural persons, interest groups, and clubs with proof of residence or headquarters in Salzburg, as well as specialized associations that are members of the State Sports Organization (LSO). Prerequisites for an application are sporting achievements according to the funding guidelines, a valid sports medical examination, and an annual net income from sports not exceeding €100,000 (professional athletes excluded). While world-class athletes are primarily supported by Austrian Sports Aid, they may also apply for action budgets and training-accompanying measures. Fully completed application forms and result lists or performance certificates confirmed by the specialized association must be submitted to the State Sports Office no later than 14 days before the next meeting. The Sports Aid Committee decides on the grant based on performance achievements, association membership, and timely submission of documents.
