Renovation of Owner-Occupied Homes and Apartments; Barrier-Free Measures; Acquisition of Older Properties

This funding program supports private individuals in Carinthia in the sustainable modernization of their living spaces. It promotes comprehensive renovation measures of single-family homes and apartments aimed at a noticeable reduction in energy consumption, as well as the replacement of heating systems and barrier-free conversion of residential buildings. Furthermore, purchasers of older properties with up to two residential units can apply for a grant for the purchase and renovation. The funding, which equally focuses on energy efficiency, climate protection, and living comfort, is valid from 01.01.2026 to 31.12.2028. The application must be submitted only after the completion of the carried-out measures, so that already completed projects can be considered.

A prerequisite for a grant is the existence of a single- or two-family house in Carinthia or an older property with a maximum of two residential units. The application must include, among other documents, an existing and a completion energy certificate according to OIB Guideline 6 (2023), the forms "Company" (BW508) and "Energy Certificate" (BW509), invoices for the work carried out, and in the case of barrier-free conversions, a care notice or specialist medical report (BW507). For the purchase of older properties, the purchase contract and proof of income are additionally required. The processing is handled by Department 11 – Social Affairs, Housing and Labor Market – of the Carinthian State Government. This grant promotes energy-efficient and barrier-free housing solutions that increase the quality of living and help save costs in the long term.
