Renovation of Residential Buildings with More Than 3 Apartments - Rental Apartments

Direct grants support renovation and expansion measures on existing residential buildings with more than three rental apartments in Upper Austria. Under the Upper Austrian Housing Promotion Act 1993 and the Residential Building Renovation Ordinance II 2020, the program promotes both the energetic and structural modernization as well as the expansion of existing buildings. Private individuals, non-profit organizations, and companies can submit applications continuously, as there is no limited funding volume. This provides impetus for future-oriented housing construction and sustainable urban development, contributing to an improvement in living quality and energy efficiency. The objective also includes the creation of new living space in buildings not previously used for residential purposes, to meet the growing demand for rental apartments in the region.

A prerequisite for funding is the location in Upper Austria as well as proof that the subsidized residential building has at least four apartments. Furthermore, structural and energetic minimum requirements according to the Residential Building Renovation Ordinance II 2020 must be met. All costs associated with renovation and expansion measures carried out by qualified providers of material services are eligible for funding.
