Description
The program of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern provides low-interest loans to permanently secure affordable housing. Funding is granted for new constructions, modernizations, as well as expansions of barrier-free and occupancy-bound rental apartments with socially acceptable net cold rents. The guideline distinguishes between two funding paths: the first targets low-income households, the second targets middle incomes. The maximum loan amount ranges between 70% and 75% of eligible costs depending on the municipality and funding path, limited to a price per square meter of up to €3,750. At least 20% of the total costs must be provided as equity. Projects in upper, middle, or basic centers as well as designated tourism focal points with more than 2,000 inhabitants are given special priority.
Natural and legal persons may submit an application to the State Development Institute Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at any time before the start of the project. A prerequisite is the ownership or secured acquisition of a suitable building plot in eligible municipalities, confirmation of the municipal housing demand, as well as compliance with income limits, occupancy, and rent price restrictions. Furthermore, planning must comply with the technical provisions of the guideline. The aim of the funding is the sustainable strengthening of social housing in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern through the creation of housing for low-income and middle-class household types. Potential applicants benefit from flexible deadlines and comprehensive support by the State Development Institute as trustee of the Ministry of the Interior, Construction and Digitalization.
