Description
The student competition “My School Goes Green” by the Carl and Marisa Hahn Foundation is aimed at schools and youth centers in the Wolfsburg area and invites participants, classes, project teams, as well as individuals to develop creative concepts for a climate-friendly modernization of their learning and common areas. The goal is to strengthen young people’s environmental awareness and promote sustainable education by awarding the best ideas with prize money and professional support. Evaluation criteria particularly include the level of innovation, ecological sustainability aspects, and feasibility within the school environment. Submissions must include a meaningful project description and the completed participation form and will be accepted from autumn 2026 for the fourth competition round.
The foundation financially supports the implementation of selected projects and honors the commitment with a ceremonial award event that provides young environmental pioneers with a platform. Through this initiative, schools and youth centers are to become visible role models in climate-relevant fields of action such as energy efficiency, resource conservation, or waste reduction. The competition is intended as a catalyst for sustainable projects that extend beyond the school grounds and initiate long-term positive change. Interested educational institutions are encouraged to develop forward-looking ideas and thereby make an active contribution to local climate protection.
