Description

In Vienna, a program of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research financially supports disadvantaged guardians or emancipated students in participating in multi-day, movement- and sports-oriented school events with overnight stays. Up to €100 per funding application can be granted for accommodation, transport, lift tickets, rental equipment, and sports instruction. Cancellation and medically confirmed illness costs are also eligible expenses. The goal is to facilitate access for young people from families with high overall financial burdens to active learning formats and thus sustainably promote potential in the areas of children and youth, education, sports, and social affairs.

Eligible to apply are guardians or emancipated students with valid proof of need (e.g., student allowance, GIS exemption, minimum income support, or prescription fee exemption). Required are the completed support application form (Form A for individual evidence or B for multiple participants) and a participation confirmation from the school sports week coordinator. Applications must be submitted to the School Sports Week Service Point by no later than December 11, 2026. After positive review and completion of the event, the funding amount will be transferred directly to the account specified in the application. This funding offer (valid from June 11, 2024, to December 31, 2026) creates equal opportunities for active, health-promoting school projects in the Vienna region.
