Description
In the thematic areas of children and youth, social affairs, health, as well as labor & social affairs, and with ongoing funding opportunities, the state of Burgenland provides grant financing for the provision of school assistance in the compulsory school sector. The program reimburses 100% of the actual salary and overhead costs for qualified school assistants who support children with disabilities during lessons, breaks, and in nursing or medical measures. The goal is to offset the additional costs for upbringing and education caused by the disability and thus enable all learners to participate according to their abilities. Funding is provided, among others, for multiply disabled or sensory-impaired children receiving care allowance, chronically ill children, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities with self- or externally dangerous behavior, as well as developmental disorders with similar support needs.
Private applicants with their main residence and school attendance in Burgenland can make use of the funding program from the project start on October 1, 2024. New applications must be submitted by March 1 of the current school year, extension applications by February 1. The maximum project duration is ten months, with salary and overhead costs reimbursed at 100%. In addition to the application form and a declaration of assignment, specialist medical or clinical-psychological reports must be submitted. The decision is made by an independent commission based on clearly defined evaluation criteria, including care allowance receipt, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disorders with self- or externally dangerous behavior. This ongoing grant opportunity promotes inclusive education and relieves legal guardians by creating the necessary framework conditions for barrier-free participation in lessons.
