Description
The School Integration Assistance of the Elisabethheim Havetoft Foundation in Schleswig-Holstein is aimed at children and adolescents who have been unable to attend regular classes for an extended period due to individual challenges. Within the framework of a daily rate subsidy according to § 27 para. 3 SGB VIII, learning content is reviewed, social and methodological skills are strengthened, and small learning groups are offered. Participants from residential youth welfare institutions – including externally assigned pupils – benefit from a trusting, anxiety-free atmosphere in which they gradually reconnect with the regular school system and can work towards a qualification. The service offering is continuously accessible, and applications can be submitted at any time to the responsible youth welfare office. A prerequisite for funding is placement in a residential facility and the official determination of need by the youth welfare office. The open funding structure allows for individual support and close coordination with residential group teams, therapists, and teachers of the subsequent regular school.
The funding approach aims to compensate for educational deficits and sustainably prepare the transition to a regular school. Progress is made visible through regular learning goal assessments and personalized support plans, while joint projects and creative elements promote enjoyment of learning. An interdisciplinary team of experienced teachers, educational professionals, and therapists accompanies the process and supports the planning of a gradual return to regular classes. Thanks to the continuous funding opportunity through the Elisabethheim Havetoft Foundation, a genuine perspective is created for young people facing special challenges who wish to advance their educational and personal development.
