Description

In the federal state of Tyrol, the school cost subsidy supports vocational qualification through an income-dependent grant for training and further education defined in the guideline at recognized educational institutions. It is aimed at employees, freelance service providers, apprentices, public law employees, unemployed persons, job seekers, re-entrants, career starters, as well as self-employed entrepreneurs with up to nine employees. The measure aims to promote training within the framework of the skilled labor initiative for which no other public support is possible. The funding is divided into a basic subsidy and an additional educational bonus for successfully completed formal qualifications, to strengthen the attainment of professional certifications.

Training costs between €180 and €6,000 are eligible for the basic subsidy, and between €500 and €12,000 for the educational bonus, with a maximum of €30 per teaching unit. The funding rate depends on income and is 30% (below income threshold I: €2,900 monthly) or 20% (between income thresholds I and II: €3,400 monthly) as the basic subsidy, plus an additional 20% or 10% as the educational bonus. Maximum amounts per beneficiary are €3,000 (below income threshold I) or €1,800 (between the thresholds). Prerequisites include, among others, a regular residence or place of employment in Tyrol, at least 75% attendance, no simultaneous receipt of education allowance update or skilled labor funding, and timely application by December 31, 2029 (before the start of training or at the latest two weeks thereafter). The application must be accompanied by proof of employment status, registration and payment confirmations, as well as evidence of other funding.
