School Projects of the Ida and Otto Chelius Foundation

The Ida and Otto Chelius Foundation supports school initiatives in Freiburg and the surrounding area that specifically strengthen the social, linguistic, artistic-creative, and athletic development of children and adolescents. Educational institutions and public bodies can continuously submit written funding applications to receive grants for projects at primary and secondary schools. The focus is on language-promoting teaching concepts and creative music or theater offerings as well as movement programs that foster a sense of community and social behavior. The funding categories range from school-based education and training to culture, media, and sports, as well as socio-emotional offerings that enrich everyday learning and promote equal opportunities.

For the application, a detailed project description including a comprehensive cost breakdown is required. The board meets several times a year to review the submitted documents and make decisions. Projects in the areas of education & training, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media are equally welcome, as are initiatives in the sports and social sectors. The grant is awarded as a financial contribution without requiring co-financing. The funding is explicitly aimed at all school stakeholders who wish to shape an inclusive and holistic educational landscape. Through the continuous allocation of funds, the foundation provides long-term planning security and supports sustainable concepts for the individual development of students of all age groups.
