Description
The pastoral care training offered by the Therapeutic Pastoral Care Foundation is aimed at members and volunteers in church congregations nationwide who wish to qualify for lifelong accompaniment and pastoral counseling. Both private individuals and non-profit organizations can continuously submit requests and benefit from a practice-oriented training program. The goal is to establish pastoral care as a vibrant community culture by enabling interested parties to independently undertake pastoral tasks and provide support within the familiar setting of small groups. The funding strengthens social cohesion and promotes democratic engagement through comprehensive education and training in the areas of counseling, commitment to social cohesion, and social work.
Three specialized modules are available: The workshop “Better Talking. Honest Listening. Truly Understanding.” imparts techniques for successful conversations, while the training day “Pastoral Care in Small Groups” promotes the establishment and facilitation of protected discussion circles. With the comprehensive “8 plus 5 Pastoral Care Training and Life Accompaniment,” participants receive practical methods for sustainable support of other community members in everyday life. The prerequisite for participation is membership in a church congregation or a community context. A written registration is sufficient to promptly arrange an appointment and thus expand pastoral care competence locally. In this way, the foundation supports community-based, inclusive accompaniment founded on trust, empathy, and professional expertise.
