Seminar Program (Otto Benecke Foundation e.V.)

The Otto Benecke Foundation e.V. offers nationwide preparatory in-person and online seminars that enable young immigrants to successfully begin their university studies in Germany. With over 20 years of experience, various course formats have been developed to impart fundamental interdisciplinary key competencies such as academic research, intercultural communication, and self-management. Additionally, subject-specific modules are offered for selected fields of study. Through a mix of digital units and personal meetings in selected cities, an interactive learning environment is created that promotes exchange with like-minded peers and addresses individual learning needs. Participants benefit from practical exercises, moderated discussion rounds, as well as professional advice on study and application pathways.

The program is aimed at all young people with a migration background who intend to study in Germany and wish to prepare their academic careers in a targeted manner. Continuous submission of applications allows flexible access to the dates, which vary depending on the seminar series. This commitment is supported by a government grant that facilitates financial participation. The overarching goal is to ease the transition to higher education, strengthen self-organization, and establish equal opportunities in the education system in the long term.
