Description

The Sepp Herberger Day of the DFB Foundation Sepp Herberger links primary schools and non-profit football clubs to colorful action days, where primary school children are the focus. Within the framework of a football-related tournament, the grade levels compete athletically on the club grounds and explore the work of the 1954 World Cup-winning coach at an interactive station. The event is supported by an extensive material package that includes medals, certificates, footballs, and educational work materials about Sepp Herberger. The program is complemented by the DFB Paule Try-Out Badge as well as optional interactive activities that promote movement, team spirit, and enthusiasm for sport. The offer is continuously available nationwide and aims to strengthen new or existing partnerships between schools and clubs and to motivate volunteers in the children and youth sector.

For the first 200 events of each registration period, the foundation provides financial support of 200 euros per event. Eligible for funding are cooperations that can be proven to take place between a primary school and a football club recognized as non-profit. A prerequisite is the submission of a signed cooperation agreement as well as a corporate tax exemption certificate before the event; after the event, a confirmation form must be submitted. Selection is made on a "first come, first served" basis. There is no fixed deadline – registrations can be submitted at any time. Sepp Herberger Day combines education and sport, creates shared experiences for children, and honors the commitment of all involved to social cohesion.
