Description
The City of Graz supports committed neighborhood work through SIBET and continuously awards grants to non-profit organizations, associations, and public institutions in Styria. The aim of the basic and project funding is to strengthen neighborhood centers, community centers, and local meeting places through sustainable networking and participation processes, thereby improving the quality of life locally. Within this framework, both time- and location-limited initiatives as well as the continuous basic funding of existing institutions are considered. The funding supports initiatives that enable social participation in the spirit of community work, activate community potentials, and promote democratic engagement. In doing so, the program contributes to social cohesion and the strengthening of civil society structures in Graz.
Funding amounts are tiered and range depending on the institution from up to €150,000 for neighborhood centers, up to €50,000 for community centers, to up to €15,000 for local meeting places; projects can be supported with a maximum of €10,000. Prerequisites for an application include, among other things, a detailed financial plan, proof of registration in the association register with valid statutes, as well as an operational work plan or proof of qualifications of the involved staff. Formal applications are submitted electronically via the municipal e-government form and are accepted on an ongoing basis. Funding recipients commit to complying with the general funding guidelines of the City of Graz and to submitting proof of use. This flexible funding offer enables local actors to realize innovative projects and establish long-term, well-established services in their neighborhoods.
