Description
The funding fund Small Change for Transformative Change of the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S. supports initiatives nationwide that achieve a noticeable impact in the area of future-oriented land use and socio-ecological transformation with comparatively modest resources. Projects with a connection to the foundation's guidelines are funded, which test innovative approaches for climate-friendly agricultural and food systems, enable transformative learning, or strengthen democratic discourse on environmental and nature conservation issues. The maximum funding amount is up to €5,000, whereby sustainable use of funds and transparency as well as the expected impact must be convincingly demonstrated in the project concept. A focus is placed on projects in the northern to nationwide German area; in individual cases, European activities are also eligible for funding.
Interested parties are non-profit organizations and private individuals who provide a verifiable idealistic or material contribution and whose projects are supported once per fiscal year. Eligible to apply are initiative leaders with or in cooperation with a non-profit organization. Excluded are, among others, individual case aid, ongoing personnel costs, printing subsidies, acquisitions of capital goods by non-non-profit actors, as well as scientific conferences. Selection is based on criteria such as relevance to the foundation's objectives, own contribution, expected impact, and transparency of fund usage.
