Description

One-time Emergency Aid for Seniors in the Rhine-Neckar-Pfalz Region
The Peter + Maria Kinscherff Foundation for Senior Assistance grants needy seniors in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate a one-time financial support of up to €420. The funding aims to prevent old-age poverty and covers unforeseen expenses such as necessary equipment, furniture, or back payments of ancillary costs. Eligible are individuals residing in the Rhine-Neckar-Pfalz metropolitan region who receive an old-age pension, basic security benefits, or housing allowance and have a disposable income of less than €800 (single household) or €1,400 (couple/life partnership) after deducting rental costs. State benefits for the requested costs must not already apply. Applications can be submitted continuously and independently of fixed deadlines. A renewed application is only possible after twelve months if emergency aid has already been granted.

Application Requirements and Funding Procedure
To apply, copies of the identity card or passport, current notices of pension, basic security, or housing allowance, proof of care allowance or assistance with care, as well as an approved cost estimate or invoice must be attached. Approval is granted in writing after reviewing the funding criteria in the internal decision-making process. The foundation exclusively covers or co-finances the costs and does not organize the selection or delivery of the funded services. This emergency aid complements the foundation’s long-term projects and contributes to sustainably improving the quality of life of older people.
