Description
SolarPLUS specifically supports the expansion of photovoltaic systems and electricity storage in Berlin, thereby promoting the local energy transition and the goal of climate neutrality by 2045. The program grants non-repayable subsidies in the form of proportional and fixed-amount financing for expert reports, feasibility studies, metering and measurement concepts, as well as for the installation of necessary measurement points and the consolidation of house connections. Also subsidized are the purchase or leasing of battery storage systems, monument-appropriate PV solutions, facade and green roof photovoltaics, as well as plug-in solar devices. The funding rate varies depending on the expenditure category and company size between 45% and 65%, with a maximum of 30,000 euros available per project. The project duration is twelve months.
Eligible applicants are tenants and owners of single- and two-family houses, condominium owners' associations, real estate companies, energy service companies, energy suppliers, as well as public-law institutions located in Berlin. Requirements include, among others, a minimum of three years of stationary use of the system, grid-supportive design for systems over 25 kWp, and a ratio of PV capacity to storage capacity of at least 1.2 kWp per kWh. Additional requirements apply for plug-in solar devices, such as a maximum inverter capacity of 600 W, consent from the property owners, and registration with the grid operators. Funding applications can be submitted via the online portal from March 21, 2025, until December 31, 2025.
