Description
The Solitude Exchange Network offers the opportunity for three-month residencies at partner organizations in Central and Southeastern Europe as part of an EU-wide cultural funding program. The aim is to strengthen transnational connections between local art scenes through intensive cultural exchange. In return, each participating institution – including organizations in Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Serbia – sends one artist to the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. The program partners jointly finance the residencies together with the academy, providing participants with an inspiring environment for artistic development and networking.
Funding covers accommodation, a monthly stipend, travel expenses, and project funds for a duration of three months. A prerequisite for application or nomination is a recommendation by a partner institution; for residencies at foreign partners, only current or former fellows of the Akademie Schloss Solitude may be proposed. Since calls are issued continuously by the partner organizations, there are no uniform deadlines. The selection process is conducted jointly with independent jurors to ensure a fair and quality-oriented allocation. This program is aimed at artists from all disciplines who seek an intensive insight into new cultural contexts and wish to expand their networks at an international level.
