The 2026 summer camps of the Lichtblick Foundation offer children aged 8–12 from Velbert and Essen an eventful break during the first weeks of the holidays (Holiday Camp 1: 20.07.–24.07.; Holiday Camp 2: 27.07.–31.07.2026) in the Christian-educational environment of Haus Seeblick. Participants from households receiving ALG II, housing allowance, or the Education and Participation Package (BuT) can attend free of charge upon positive application review, while the regular minimum fee is €199. The actual costs of €285 per child cover accommodation, full board, supervision, and experiential educational leisure activities – a comprehensive package made possible through the financial support of the Lichtblick Foundation.

The program aims to promote social equity and relieve families with low incomes. On the spacious grounds, a variety of activities such as canoeing, archery, bouldering, and climbing on the “Himmelsleiter” (Sky Ladder) are offered, which enhance both motor skills and team spirit. Supervision is provided by experienced educators and staff from the Bleibergquelle Vocational College, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Requirements for free participation include residence in Velbert or Essen, proof of receipt of ALG II, housing allowance, or BuT, as well as a completed application form. This holiday offer not only sparks a sense of adventure but also enables social participation – an unforgettable holiday experience for socially disadvantaged children.
