Summer Night Concert

The annual Summer Night Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic in the picturesque gardens of Schönbrunn Palace is one of Vienna's musical highlights and is offered free of charge each June. To realize this major cultural event, the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection as well as Regions and Water Management provides a lump-sum grant of €100,000 per year. The funds are paid directly to the Vienna Philharmonic Association and enable a high-quality artistic performance in the open air. This funding aims both to strengthen the musical heritage and to further develop Austria’s tourism profile in terms of quality.

Eligible for funding are non-profit associations and comparable organizations dedicated to organizing and conducting such large-scale cultural events. Applications can be submitted at any time, as no specific prerequisites are set and the deadline remains open indefinitely. The program specifically supports initiatives that create impulses for Austria’s cultural and tourism sector in Vienna and beyond. Through the continuous provision of public funds, it is ensured that the Schönbrunn Palace Garden stage will remain a magnetic attraction for music lovers from both domestic and international audiences in the future.
