Description

The 2024 special funding guideline of the State of Burgenland supports non-profit housing associations and legal entities owned by Burgenland regional authorities in the construction of group residential buildings, terraced houses, as well as rental and owner-occupied apartments through non-repayable grants. The aim is to create high-quality and affordable housing while considering spatial planning, climate-relevant, and ecological aspects. Funding is provided for the new construction of residential buildings with base amounts of up to €550 per m² of usable living space, which can be increased by bonus amounts depending on the energy index and ecological index. Technologies such as highly efficient heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, and low-CO₂ building materials are given special consideration. Applications can be submitted from 01.09.2024 to 31.12.2026, as long as budget funds are available.

Eligible for funding are non-profit housing associations based in Burgenland, as well as public entities that allocate housing exclusively to eligible natural persons who can prove that they have had their main residence in Austria for at least two years. Applications must be submitted electronically to the Office of the Burgenland State Government – Department 9 Housing Promotion – and require, among other documents, building permits, site plans, cost breakdowns according to ÖNORM B 1801-1, energy certificates, and a list of housing applicants. In the evaluation process, factors such as cost and affordability, ecological measures, location and demand, as well as contract design and transparency play a decisive role. The ranking of funding applications ensures efficient allocation of resources in line with social, economic, and ecological sustainability. Interested organizations can obtain comprehensive information on application submission and funding processing directly from Department 9 Social and Climate Fund Burgenland.
