Special Environmental Funding Styria

The special environmental funding in Styria enables continuous support for technical, planning, and informational measures to implement the Air Quality Program of Styria as well as the 2019–2021 action plan of the Climate and Energy Strategy. Eligible applicants include natural and legal persons, as well as companies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations with a registered office or residence in Styria. Projects in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, energy efficiency, and renewable energies are funded. The funding is provided as a grant, and applications can be submitted at any time. The goal is to establish low-emission structures throughout the region, achieve sustainable energy savings, and increase the share of renewable energy sources.

Eligible costs include investment expenses for emission reduction measures, consulting fees, feasibility studies, as well as training and informational materials. A prerequisite is proof of the planned measure and the expected emission reduction, as well as compliance with technical guidelines. Evaluation criteria particularly include sustainability aspects, potential for emission reduction, economic efficiency, and degree of innovation. For the application, a detailed project description, proof of economic viability, eligibility documentation, and technical reports or measurement data must be submitted. Through this special funding, municipalities and municipal institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, agricultural businesses, educational institutions, and private individuals are supported in achieving ambitious climate goals, improving air quality, and contributing to the energy transition in Styria in the long term.
