Other Aid for School Purposes

The Other Aid for School Purposes of the State of Burgenland offer students from low-income and large families a variety of learning and physical activity experiences. This grant program supports a wide range of activities – from winter and summer sports weeks to project and intensive language courses, as well as school trips, stays abroad, and swimming courses. In the areas of education, social affairs, children and youth, as well as vocational training and work & social affairs, the participation of young people is strengthened and social disadvantages are reduced. Through targeted financial support, not only professional skills are developed, but also team spirit, self-confidence, and intercultural understanding are promoted.

Eligible for funding are private school attendees at Burgenland’s elementary, secondary, and special schools, as well as polytechnic courses, whose legal guardians can prove their low income. Key conditions for funding include participation in the school event and a fully completed application form including proof of income. As a continuously open funding opportunity, applications can be submitted at any time since 01.01.2014 without time limitation. The measure is available in all districts of Burgenland and strengthens the regional educational infrastructure. Administration of this social and family benefit is the responsibility of the State of Burgenland; a usage report must be submitted upon completion. With this unlimited funding, the federal state makes an important contribution to equal opportunities and enables students to fully utilize extracurricular educational offerings.
