Description
The “Other Funding” of the Public Employment Service are nationwide grants available under the Public Employment Service Act (AMSG), which are accessible to private individuals in the fields of labor and social affairs. Unlike standardized funding guidelines, allocation is made through individual case decisions by the AMS Administrative Board, which approves individual financial assistance based on federal or board directives. The non-repayable funds serve to partially cover individual expenses and complement the regular AMS service portfolio. This modular offering enables tailored support in areas such as vocational qualification, mobility, social participation, or childcare. Ongoing applications are possible until the total volume is exhausted. The aim of the funding is to sustainably increase labor market participation and reduce unemployment.
Those eligible for funding are job seekers and persons in special labor market situations who wish to cover individual costs within the framework of their integration. Submission of an application to the regional AMS offices initiates the funding process; the central prerequisite for granting funds is a positive individual case decision by the Administrative Board. The sole evaluation criterion is the resolution of the committee. The type of funding includes non-repayable grants that can cover part of the expenses for training fees, travel, or childcare costs. The funding makes an important contribution to overcoming individual barriers and strengthens social as well as economic participation in the long term. Current deadlines and the remaining volume are continuously published, allowing for individual planning. The responsible authority is the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection – Section IX (AMS), which, together with the Public Employment Service, provides tailored funding solutions.
