Other Sports Funding

The “Other Sports Funding” program of the City of Vienna offers non-profit Viennese sports clubs and associations a continuous financial grant opportunity to further strengthen sporting activities in the city. The aim of this funding is to encourage even more people to engage in physical activity and to sustainably improve the framework conditions for athletes. Special focus areas include youth projects, the promotion of girls’ and women’s sports, as well as programs in disability sports. Furthermore, innovative approaches that establish modern structures in recognized Viennese sports are supported, thereby securing long-term effects for member clubs and their communities.

Eligible for funding are clubs and associations based in Vienna that pursue a non-profit purpose, practice a sport recognized in Vienna, and are not subject to insolvency proceedings. Applications can be submitted at any time – there is no deadline. The funds are granted as direct subsidies and can be used, for example, for the training and further education of coaches, the acquisition of sports equipment, or the expansion of barrier-free access. With this measure, the City of Vienna sets an important impulse for strengthening grassroots sports and integration by placing values such as fairness, tolerance, and community promotion at the center.
