Other subsidies to non-profit institutions in the interest of foreign policy

The funding program “Other subsidies to non-profit institutions in the interest of foreign policy” is aimed at Austrian non-profit organizations, foundations, and associations active in the fields of development cooperation, agriculture, and rural development, thereby supporting the foreign policy objectives of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. Based on the General Framework Guidelines (ARR), grants are continuously awarded in accordance with the applicable financial authorization. The subsidies serve to strengthen civil society actors engaged in international partnerships and implementing projects that enhance Austria’s reputation abroad as well as intensify dialogue and cooperation with partner countries.

The focus of the funding provisions is on non-profit status and demonstrable activity in the interest of foreign policy. Applicant institutions must provide detailed evidence of their projects and initiatives and explain how these accompany and deepen international cooperation. There is no fixed budget volume, as disbursements are adjusted annually and updated quarterly. The subsidies can be used in particular for project costs, personnel and material expenses, as well as travel costs within the framework of program implementation. The flexible and continuous funding opportunity ensures that non-profit organizations are supported quickly and unbureaucratically, thereby contributing to sustainably strengthening Austria’s foreign policy interests on a global level.
