Other Environmental Protection Measures

The funding for other environmental protection measures in the subcategory Air Quality supports projects throughout Austria that are listed in § 4 of the Investment Promotion Guidelines 2022 and do not fall under another defined funding area. The focus is on investment projects aimed at reducing noise and emission effects, pilot and demonstration plants, as well as innovative system components on an industrial scale. Applications can be submitted from 01.03.2024 to 31.12.2050. Structured as a grant, the program contributes to environmental and climate protection, energy efficiency, and sustainable economic development by promoting higher-cost, environmentally effective technologies. Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH accompanies the entire process as the operational funding agency.

Eligible for funding are small and medium-sized enterprises, other entrepreneurial organizations, associations, and religious institutions with headquarters or activities in Austria. The prerequisite is that the application is submitted before the first legally binding order, before delivery, or before construction begins. Eligible expenses include investment costs for equipment, planning and installation, as well as demonstration and pilot plants. Evaluation is based on environmental impact, degree of innovation, and economic efficiency. For the application, in addition to a technical description, evidence of the project objective and degree of novelty, information on the expected environmental impact, an economic feasibility calculation, offers and cost estimates, as well as official decisions are required. For investments exceeding 500,000 euros, a report from the credit institution must be attached. After a positive review, the commission decision follows, subsequently leading to the conclusion of the funding contract. This can be submitted online via the MEINE FÖRDERUNG platform of KPC.
