Description

Purpose of Funding and Target Groups
The grant supports strategic and future-oriented measures aimed at ensuring the continued existence of the ethnic groups based in Vienna. Projects that strengthen the cultural heritage, language, and social cohesion of Slovenian, Croatian, Hungarian, Czech, and Slovak communities as well as the Roma are funded. Eligible to apply are associations, foundations, funds, public institutions, as well as churches and religious communities that, according to their statutes, are committed to the preservation of these ethnic groups, their characteristics, and rights. The focus is on the integration of cultural and media projects as well as initiatives for democracy and social participation. Thanks to the ongoing submission possibility, the start and duration can be flexibly adapted to the project planning; a funding recommendation by the selection committee and full financing of the project are central decision criteria.

Funding Framework and Application Modalities
Funding is provided for personnel expenses, material costs, travel expenses, fees, as well as construction and renovation measures. Retroactive costs, real estate acquisitions, and debt repayments are not considered. The application must include the fully completed application form, an activity recording sheet, the latest annual financial statement or income-expenditure account, and a detailed cost calculation. Evaluation is based on relevance to the ethnic groups, sustainability, financial planning, and compliance with funding requirements. After positive review and legally binding contract acceptance, payment is made to an account of the funding recipient. This funding pillar thus makes a decisive contribution to the long-term safeguarding and vibrant further development of the diverse ethnic group landscape in Vienna.
