Social Everyday Support, Lower Austria

The funding for Social Everyday Support in Lower Austria is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions that employ qualified social workers as everyday companions. The goal is to relieve caregiving relatives and support individuals in need of care in returning to social activities. Through regular, not just short-term care, everyday obstacles are reduced and active community interaction is promoted. The program complements existing social-medical and social care services and emphasizes individually tailored support offerings, ranging from a minimum of two to a maximum of six hours per deployment. In cases of increased need, up to 40 hours per month and up to 300 hours annually can be funded.

Eligible applicants are providers of in-kind services accredited according to the Lower Austrian Social Assistance Act, who can demonstrate their services in Lower Austria. The funding amount covers 100% of the deployment hours, with typically 20 hours supported per month and up to 150 hours per year. Financial grants are provided as non-repayable subsidies and can be applied for in ongoing funding rounds without a fixed deadline. The administration is handled by the Department of Social Affairs and Generational Support of the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, which also ensures comprehensive support in the use of funds and accounting. This offer enables professionals to sustainably provide professional everyday support, thereby comprehensively relieving caregiving families and opening up new participation opportunities for people in need of care.
