Description
The funding program of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport is aimed at public institutions that provide comprehensive social support and counseling for asylum seekers, refugees, and late repatriates in the initial reception centers of the Lower Saxony State Reception Authority. The goal is to strengthen social cohesion and democratic participation in Lower Saxony through expert support of child and youth as well as adult services. Within the thematic areas of social affairs, migration, engagement for social cohesion/democracy, children and youth, and work & social affairs, grants continuously offer funding opportunities for programs that ensure joint accompaniment, counseling, and support on site.
Funding is provided particularly for personnel costs for social workers and counselors, material and operational costs for care services, as well as training and further education measures for care staff. Prerequisites include the implementation of measures in an initial reception center of the Lower Saxony State Reception Authority and recognition as a provider of social and counseling services. The grant is awarded upon application and can be submitted to the ministry on an ongoing basis. This support creates sustainable structures that ensure needs-based care and stable daily support for residents accommodated in the state reception centers. At the same time, the funding makes an important contribution to the social integration and equal opportunities of refugees and asylum seekers in Lower Saxony.
