Description
In Salzburg, the state provides income-dependent subsidies for professional home nursing care, household assistance, and family support. The target group consists of individuals in need of care and supervision who, due to chronic or age-related illnesses or disabilities, can no longer live independently in their private households, as well as families in acute emergency situations. Providers from companies, non-profit organizations, or public institutions have the opportunity to offer care and support services, thereby contributing to the relief of relatives. The funding is granted in the form of subsidies and is unlimited in duration, ensuring ongoing financial support. This sustainably strengthens social services in the areas of social affairs, health, children and youth, as well as labor and social matters.
A prerequisite for the grant is the presence of an illness or disability that precludes independent living in the household, the main residence in the federal state of Salzburg, as well as a home visit to assess the care and support needs. Additionally, the person in need of care must hold Austrian citizenship (exceptions possible according to § 6 para. 3 of the Salzburg Social Assistance Act), and the services may only be provided by authorized providers in accordance with § 3 of the Social Services Regulation. For the application, among other documents, proof of nationality, income, care allowance, and expense receipts (e.g., rent and operating costs) must be submitted. The funding has been available without time limitation since 01.01.2014 and offers responsible service providers planning security.
