Description
The funding initiative of the State of Upper Austria continuously supports educational institutions in Upper Austria in financing training programs in specialized social care with a focus on elderly care "A" as well as in certified health and nursing care with a geriatric focus. As direct project funding, course fees of up to 100% of the expenses not covered by school-specific revenues are assumed. The aim of the funding is the qualified preparation of specialized social caregivers and certified nursing professionals for the care of elderly people. The beneficiary is always the training provider (school), whereby the approved funds are deployed over the entire duration of the course and must be used according to the criteria of economy, efficiency, and appropriateness.
Eligible to apply are regional providers of social assistance who report the personnel needs for specialized social caregivers in elderly care as well as for certified health and nursing professionals with a geriatric focus. Applications can be submitted year-round and require the submission of a participant list, a completed and signed application form, a budget plan including a cost overview, as well as proof of use (interim and final accounts). The Social Department in the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government reviews the appropriate use of funds based on the state budget and available financial resources, with regular monitoring through interim and overall accounting. This funding specifically promotes the expansion of professional elderly care competencies and sustainably meets the regional demand for skilled personnel.
