Social Support of the Dr. Hans Hoch Foundation (Social Sector)

The Dr. Hans Hoch Foundation supports social initiatives and needy residents of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein through continuously available grants. In particular, economically disadvantaged individuals of all age groups – from children and adolescents to seniors – benefit from funding when statutory benefits are insufficient. Non-profit associations, organizations, and self-help groups are also supported to implement projects in the social sector and to strengthen sustainable local structures. The foundation draws on the legacy of the former businessman Dr. Hans Hoch, who bequeathed the majority of his assets to his hometown to support local social measures.

Funding is provided, among other things, for the acquisition of household goods, clothing in exceptional cases, as well as leisure and recreational activities for young people. Class trips receive subsidies just as projects by associations, organizations, or self-help groups do, provided that residency in Neumünster is proven and no other statutory claims exist. Applications can be submitted at any time, with applications for individual needs processed through the responsible specialized services of the city, and applications for class trips submitted via schools. Through this location-specific financial assistance, the foundation contributes to strengthening social participation and providing concrete support to disadvantaged citizens on site.
