Description
The Sporthilfe Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation awards performance-based grants within the framework of the elite sports support project "Team Rheinland-Pfalz" to athletes with federal squad status from Olympic, Paralympic, and Deaflympic disciplines. The funding offer is exclusively aimed at athletes eligible to compete for a club in Rhineland-Palatinate and who have a current nomination in the Olympic squad (OK), Paralympic squad (PAK), Deaflympic squad (DK), or the respective perspective squads (PK). The goal of this initiative is to financially relieve talented elite athletes, thereby enabling optimal training conditions and participation in international competitions. The allocation of funds is based on the performance principle, taking into account the individual squad status and proven sporting achievements.
A prerequisite for funding, in addition to the federal squad nomination, is the eligibility to compete for a Rhineland-Palatinate club. In the case of a club change from outside the region, athletes must either demonstrate at least four years of youth training in Rhineland-Palatinate or have their permanent training base in the federal state. Applications can be submitted via the athlete portal "DokuMe" by January 31 for summer sports or by April 30 for winter sports. The decision on fund allocation is based on the availability of budgetary resources and the defined evaluation criteria "performance principle" and "squad status." With this funding, the non-profit foundation strengthens sustainable development pathways for sports talents and supports their long-term careers in elite sports.
