Description
“Sport on Site” promotes community-oriented sports projects throughout Lower Saxony with a focus on grassroots, competitive, and youth sports as well as the integration of immigrants and people with a migration background. The Lower Saxony Lotto Sports Foundation, established in 2009 as a legally recognized foundation under civil law, has since supported initiatives and clubs that create added sporting value for all population groups. Through an annual state subsidy of one million euros and additional funds, grants totaling €3.9 million had already been awarded by 2021. “Sport on Site” offers a continuous opportunity to implement and sustainably anchor innovative and inclusive sports programs—whether projects aimed at youth development, performance enhancement, or intercultural encounters are planned.
Eligible for funding are sports clubs, non-profit organizations, and public institutions based or operating in Lower Saxony. A prerequisite is the sporting project character in at least one of the mentioned areas as well as proof of non-profit status or club status. Programs for children and youth, people with disabilities, and immigrants are particularly welcomed. Applications can be submitted at any time on an ongoing basis, thereby strengthening timely planning and implementation. The award of a grant guarantees planning security and contributes to promoting social participation through movement and shared sport. Interested initiators receive comprehensive information on the funding criteria and application procedure directly from the Lower Saxony Lotto Sports Foundation.
