Description
The Sports Promotion of the City of Straubing supports non-profit sports clubs within the city area of Straubing with financial grants and the state club allowance from the Free State of Bavaria. From 01.04.2026, applications for the distribution of sports funds for 2026 can be submitted; the deadline is 01.09.2026. In parallel, it is possible to apply for the state club allowance until 02.03.2026. Funding is provided, among other things, for basic support per youth member, maintenance and operation of club-owned sports facilities, construction measures, acquisition of sports equipment (from €400 per item), as well as participation in regional, supraregional, and international championships. The project duration is 12 months; funds are granted as a subsidy and paid out upon submission of proof of use.
Eligible for funding are registered umbrella clubs and non-profit organizations with headquarters and sports facilities within the city area of Straubing, which are members of an umbrella association (BLSV, BSSB, or DOSB) and have a youth proportion of at least 10%. Newly founded clubs may submit applications from their third founding year onwards. Professional sports, spectator facilities, and non-sports-specific facilities are excluded. Allocation is based on the number of members and the youth proportion, the necessity and scope of the measure, as well as the eligibility for funding by the Sports Committee. Required documents include, among others, the application form for sports fund distribution, the sports funding guidelines, proof of use, the data protection declaration, the application form for the club allowance, as well as declarations regarding license sharing and instructor licenses. All documents must be submitted on time to the Sports Department of the City of Straubing for the application.
