Sports Initiative Burgenland

The Sport Initiative Burgenland offers continuous grants to clubs, umbrella and specialist sports associations, municipalities, as well as natural and legal persons based in Burgenland for sports-related projects and measures of outstanding importance or supraregional relevance. Funding applications can be submitted at any time, enabling initiatives to be supported quickly and according to need. The focus is on projects that sustainably strengthen the sports offerings in Burgenland, promote regional networks, and create a tangible added value for the local community. The funding covers both basic project costs and organizational expenses and is aimed at all those who plan and implement innovative sports concepts or major events.

A prerequisite for approval is proof of a sports-related project or measure as well as having a registered office in Burgenland. Evaluation is based on the significance of the project and its supraregional relevance: the greater the benefit for Burgenland’s sports sector and visibility within Austria, the more promising the prospects for a grant. After approval and invoicing, a document audit, proof of payment flow, and a final project report with evaluation must be submitted. The Sport Initiative Burgenland aims to promote sporting enthusiasm, support talents, and further develop the region as a powerhouse for innovative sports projects.
