Language Support French (District of Lower Franconia)

The district of Lower Franconia continuously grants subsidies for French language promotion and thus targets schools and educational institutions that maintain municipal partnerships with French départements. The aim of the funding is to enable students of all school types (primary, middle, secondary, and grammar schools) as well as teachers, youth ambassadors, and partner organizations to actively use the partner language. This financial contribution supports exchange programs, mobility initiatives, and specialized training sessions that facilitate direct encounters and intensive engagement with the language and culture of France. In doing so, the district contributes to deepening German-French understanding and sustainably strengthening the European idea.

Eligible for funding are public and private educational institutions based in Lower Franconia that can demonstrably be part of a municipal partnership with a French municipality. The subsidy can be used for a variety of measures, such as the deployment of youth ambassadors, the organization of French teacher days with professional workshops, or materials for initial contact with the French language and culture. Through continuous application submissions without fixed deadlines, initiatives are supported quickly and unbureaucratically. Thus, the district of Lower Franconia actively supports the next generation in building bridges to neighboring European regions through language skills and further expanding intercultural cooperation.
