Description
With nationwide grants, the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth supports innovative network projects aimed at preventing and combating loneliness and social isolation among people aged 60 and over. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations of independent welfare services as well as municipalities, districts, district-free cities, and boroughs. The goal is to establish sustainable structures for counseling, education, and social interaction that both strengthen digital skills and promote intergenerational cooperation. Complementary counseling services also contribute to improving financial security in old age and supporting older employees in the labor market. Collaborations with at least two partners from civil society and local government ensure sustainability and networking on site.
During the project period from October 2022 to December 2028, up to €119,000 (strong regions) or €153,000 (transition regions) per year can be applied for. Funding rates vary by region between 70% and 90% of eligible total costs. Covered are direct personnel costs, fees, and a flat rate for material expenses. Evaluation is based on the level of innovation, contribution to preventing loneliness, impact on municipal participation structures, and the sustainability of regional networks. The expression of interest and application phase has already been completed; applications are not possible at this time.
