Description
The funding aims to make the non-university research infrastructure close to the economy in Lower Saxony future-proof and to strengthen regional technology transfer. Sponsors from public and private sectors, educational institutions, as well as non-profit research organizations can continuously apply for grants for construction measures, modern laboratory and testing equipment, IT infrastructure, and technical equipment. A proven need at the location in Lower Saxony and compliance with the provisions of the Research Infrastructure Directive are prerequisites. In this way, innovation projects are sustainably supported and regional value creation is promoted through improved knowledge exchange between research and industry.
Expenditures for new construction and expansion, modernization, as well as equipment of research facilities of non-university sponsors are eligible for funding. Retroactive expenses, ongoing operating costs, or personnel costs exceeding the project period are not eligible. Evaluation is based on the degree of innovation, economic benefit for the region, and a convincing sustainability and operational concept. To apply, among other documents, a completed application form, a detailed project description, a financing and cost plan, as well as proof of location and sponsorship must be submitted. Applications can be submitted year-round without a fixed deadline to the Investment and Development Bank of Lower Saxony (NBank). Through targeted funding, location advantages are strengthened and the research landscape in Lower Saxony is networked and further developed in the long term.
