Investment Promotion for Innovative Start-ups and SMEs in Upper Austria
The Start-up Premium for the Upper Austrian Economy (SPW) supports young companies and founders in developing forward-looking business models. Investment costs incurred domestically within the framework of an aws ERP loan with special founder conditions for sectors such as industry, trade, and services at the time of loan approval are eligible for funding. Small and medium-sized enterprises with project-related total costs between €20,000 and €500,000 benefit from non-repayable grants or interest subsidies within the De-minimis framework. The aim of this regional aid is to strengthen competitiveness, provide growth capital, and promote location development in Upper Austria.

Eligibility and Application Procedure
Eligible applicants are companies and founders who utilize an aws ERP loan with special founder conditions. A minimum eligible investment amount of €20,000 up to a maximum of €500,000 for domestic measures is required. The online form is available via the Upper Austria Economic Portal. By submitting the SPW 2024-2026 guidelines along with the fully completed application, the review of funding eligibility is initiated. Funding applications can be submitted continuously until December 31, 2026. Central processing is carried out by the Funding Department of the State of Upper Austria. Interested companies receive detailed information on project setup and processing via the Upper Austria Economic Portal. This premium makes a significant contribution to the modernization of domestic enterprises and the securing of future-oriented jobs in the region.
