Wolfgang Winkelmann Foundation Fund – Support for People with Hearing Impairments

The Wolfgang Winkelmann Foundation Fund offers special support opportunities for hearing-impaired children and adolescents from Berlin and Brandenburg. Established by the Bürgerstiftung Berlin in 2019, the fund specifically targets young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. With an endowment of €200,000, individual measures are supported that include school and vocational training, leisure projects, as well as specialized medical interventions. The initiative aims to relieve families in participating in educational and social life and to provide effective learning aids for hearing-impaired young talents.

Grants are provided for school trips and class excursions, learning materials, technical aids, and leisure activities. Orthopedic and audiological measures may also receive support. Eligible are private individuals residing in Berlin or Brandenburg with documented hearing impairment of the child. An informal application for the desired individual measure is accepted at any time – the procedure requires a project description, a cost plan (sample calculation in Excel format), proof of hearing impairment, and bank details. Thanks to the unlimited application window, funding requests can be submitted flexibly and decided promptly. The Wolfgang Winkelmann Fund stands as a flagship project for greater equal opportunities and individual support for young people with hearing impairments.
